of help.
Most homes
use both.
One keeps the week running. The other sorts out the parts of the house that have stopped working. They fit together, and most households end up somewhere in the middle.
If you're not sure which you need, that's usually what the first conversation is for.
HOUSEKEEPING
The whole rhythm of the week, held.
The reset, the laundry, the errands, the small admin that always lands on someone. Done by the same person each visit, someone who learns how your home runs and keeps it running without needing to be told. There are three shapes it takes.
Home Management.
An ongoing arrangement with the same person each week. Come weekly or fortnightly, for as many or as few hours as your home needs, and adjust it as life changes. Because it's ongoing, Home Management is offered at a lower hourly rate than a one-off Reset.
Home Reset.
A single visit, booked when it suits you - no commitment, no ongoing arrangement. We bring the home back to a calm baseline and turn our hands to whatever's weighing on you most that day. It's the closest thing we do to traditional housekeeping, and it's a sensible way to try Maret Lane before deciding on anything regular.
Away Care.
A quiet eye on the home while you're out of town. Mail and deliveries brought in, the everyday kept ticking, the home aired and ready for your return. Scoped on a short call, and available to ongoing households first.
ORGANISATION
The pantry, the wardrobe, the laundry, the garage, the cupboard nobody opens on purpose. Start with a single project, or work through the house room by room.
A project begins with a visit - measurements, photographs, and a proper look at how the space is actually used. From there you get a costed, room-by-room plan before any work starts, so you know exactly what's coming and what it will cost.
Once a system is in, it can be kept running inside a regular Home Management visit. That's usually what makes it last.
Functional organisation.
We work with what you already own and the routines you already have, rather than asking you to change how your household runs. The measure of a good system isn't how it photographs.
A system only earns its place if it survives an ordinary Tuesday.
If you do want the fitted-out version (matching containers, the lot) we can plan and price that too. It just isn't where we start, and a house doesn't need it to work properly.

So we can do a few things really well, there’s a clear line around what Maret Lane takes on. Whichever service you choose, we don’t do:
— Childcare or school pickups
— Managing tradespeople or renovation projects
— Personal shopping, styling or lifestyle concierge
— Large-scale inbox or diary management
— Same-day or reactive work
— Styling, staging or decorating
